Description
The PureSound 2A3 is an integrated amplifier built around directly heated triodes. Its 2A3 valves are used in a push/pull output configuration, supported by 6SN7 driver valves in an unusual choke-loaded driver stage.
The amplifier offers three selectable line-level inputs and volume control via an ALPS Blue Velvet potentiometer. Gold-plated connectors provide the connections, while the power supply uses twin identical valve rectifiers and choke smoothing.
High-quality components are used throughout, including carbon film resistors and SCR polypropylene coupling capacitors. The output can be configured for 4 or 8 ohm loudspeakers, and the unit may also be used as a stereo power amplifier with the volume control turned fully up.
It is intended for use with line-level source components and loudspeakers suitable for its output level.
Frequency response is 10 Hz to 82 kHz, total harmonic distortion is 0.3%, input impedance is 100 kOhm, signal-to-noise ratio is 89 dB, input sensitivity is 850 mV, and consumption is 240 W.
Dimensions are 436 x 350 x 190 mm (w x h x d) and weight is 28 kg.
The valves are 6N8P x 4, 5Z4P x 2 and 2A3 EH x 4.
Output power is 2 x 18 W.

The A10 line integrated amplifier delivers 10 W per channel and accepts two line level inputs.
The A30 line integrated amplifier delivers 30 W per channel and accepts three line level inputs.
The A30 uses Electro Harmonix 6550 output valves in an ultra linear push pull configuration.
The A30 output stage can be switched to triode-coupled configuration.
The A30 output can be configured for use with 4 or 8 ohm loudspeakers.
Loudspeakers with sensitivities between 88 and 94 dB/W are suitable for these lower powered amplifiers.
Class A operation keeps the amplifier operating without changing character at any signal level.
Replacement output valves should be fitted as matched pairs.
There is a 60 Watt Class B amplifier in the range.
